A Gift To Myself

For my birthday I like to reward myself with a gift. Typically its a girly ALL-ME treat like a facial, mani/pedi, or massage. This year it was an amazing 90 minute massage from my friend Angee who I can no longer live without (I book her every month now!).

As a special gift, I have purchased myself something for Christmas this year. Mind you, I have been waiting and planning this gift for 2 years, so I feel I was definitely patient. I bought my first pair of snowboard boots! Along with all the helpful tips and info from the chatty guy at Sport Chalet in La Jolla, they're adorable to boot (no pun intended there). They fit really well, white and silver, and they're called "Donna" which I think is so cute because it reminds me of the bad-ass chick group, The Donnas and one of their songs, Girl Talk.

Has anyone else bought themselves a present this year?

September 2, 2010: HOW TO: Be Happy On A Random Night Alone

In bed, with fresh coats of OPI's Melon of Troy on my fingers, catching up on my Vanity Fair reading, whilst being bathed in the honey drips that is Zooey Deschanel's voice from She&Him on Pandora radio.

I've got my peppermint foot lotion from The Body Shop on underneath my argyle knee high socks from JCrew.

Now if some invisible fairy could just bring me a crispy glass of Pinot Grigio...

MAJOR shoe lust! (Photo from September 2010 Issue)

I've a newly found girl crush on Zoe Saldana (should have got on the bandwagon a while ago, I know), but am especially loving this outfit. The pic is a bit blurry, but she absolutely rocks this ensemble. (Photo from September 2010 Issue)

Crave: Anthropologie Dress

I love love love the store Anthropologie even though I've never actually bought a garment from there. Someday I will...for now I just go in the store and touch and lust over everthing I see. Over Christmas break my mom and I went in for a bit and fell in love with this dress. I copied this from their website:

It's called the windowpane because there is a large cutout opening in the back, but unfortunately I can't find a proper pic for you. Its just so cute, I crave it everytime I think about it. I could imagine myself with a martini in one hand and a ciggie in the other haha. But alas I can't justify spending $200 on it...yet...

Haul - Clothes

With the gift cards I got for my birthday (back in October) I picked up a few items to update the wardrobe. Just a few things I've really been wanting for myself.

This is a pencil skirt from Forever 21 that has very feminine ruffles on the bottom, which I love. I haven't worn it yet, but I plan on it...eventually...

This is a navy cardigan from J Crew that I wear weekly. Probably a bit too much actually, but I just love it!!

I got this cute little tshirt dress from TJ Maxx when I went shopping with my friend Femme Flaca.  It was only my second time shopping in a store like this and boy have I been missing out!!! But I've already got plans to go back regularly.

I decided to wear to work the next day, so here's my outfit of the day...or 'OOTD' as the beauty bloggers call it, lol. Paired the dress with existing pieces I had - sweater from Abercrombie & Fitch; leggings from American Eagle; ballet flats from H&M in NYC; not sure where the pearls are from but probably F21.

Last but not least, a new pashmina. I've got 3 already and come to find out, a black one can come in handy. I borrowed my mother's while in Georgia and it helped to make my cocktail dress more modest while staying dressy, so I decided to get one for myself. This was also purchased at TJ Maxx.

Anyone else done some shopping lately? I mean for yourself, not Christmas. Actually, some Christmas shopping posts would be great too!

“Girls in white dresses with blue satin sashes”

My cousin Jamie is getting married in Tennessee this October and one of boyfriend's best buds is getting married in Virginia in November. For my cousins wedding, I'm not in the wedding party or anything but all of the family that will be in town is invited to everything. For the VA wedding, boyfriend is a groomsman which makes me...loverface to a groomsman?

Translation: 5 'events' in 2 months = 5 new dresses for ChuChu!!!

And since we finally know what home we're buying (and how much down payment we need) I was able to do some shopping. All sales, of course! I was able to buy 3 dresses from JCrew.com (on super sale) & 3 dresses from my local Forever 21 (already super cheap).

I love how JCrew does their packaging, so careful and clean. Below, the green dress, is the one I will wear to my cousins wedding in Oct.

I will be wearing the Zigi Soho Gloria Satin Platform Sandal in black, from DSW, and carrying this handbag, also in black and from DSW.

For her bridal luncheon I think I'm going to wear this floral number from F21. I love the open back. Or I might wear the blue one from J Crew, with yellow shoes I wore to Del Mar opening day.

I also need to decide on something for the rehearsal dinner in which the bride will be wearing a blue cocktail dress. And then there is the rehearsal dinner in Nov, along with the wedding and reception. These are the other dresses I bought, but haven't exactly decided which I'm wearing for what occasion.

What do you guys think, any ideas? I don't think that I can properly wear this white/black one above since they're both weddings. So that leaves the pink and the gray. I've got a couple others in the closet I might need to pull out for this.

I'm not wearing a bra

Okay, I am, but it doesn't feel like it. Long story short, boyfriend forced me to go bra shopping, which I did. After picking up every bra in Victoria's Secret that I might like, I went in the dressing room and tried all 7 of them on. Only 2 of them looked right. 1 was a regular bra and 1 was a sports bra so I got them both.

Turns out what I was buying was their new Biofit bra and I had no idea. I just picked what fit best. $45 and I chose the light pink. What I love about this bra is that it feels like I'm not wearing one. That also happens to be what I hate about it thus far. Reason being is that I'm sooo used to that feeling, I think it'll take some time to get used to. But so far so good (I've worn it twice).

And then here's the cute lil sports bra I got for about $20 on sale.

Does anyone else have one of these? What do you think of it?
